Technology Start-Up Boot Camp (10/19/07)
This annual day-long workshop is designed to teach faculty, students and researchers how to start their own companies. The Boot Camp is taught by venture capitalists, intellectual property attorneys, marketing experts, and accomplished entrepreneurs. The Boot Camp helps faculty and students transfer innovative research and ideas out of the University setting and into the commercial sector.

MTECH Venture Forum (02/09/07)
The MTECH Venture Forum is a dynamic series of workshops and interactive presentations for technically-oriented graduate students and faculty to explore commercializing emerging technologies and starting their own ventures.

$50K Business Plan Competition (finals 04/27/07)
The annual University of Maryland $50K Business Plan Competition provides educational and networking opportunities for students, faculty, and young alumni. The Competition fosters new venture ideas and provides new opportunities for participants to compete for prize money that will enable them to launch and grow their ventures.

The Hinman Innovation Challenge (10/11/05)
The Hinman CEOs Program launched this competition for freshman and sophomore students to write executive summaries on an innovative concept. The Challenge motivated entrepreneurial thinking by ninety freshmen and sophomores its first year, and served as recruiting tool for the Hinman CEOs Program.
