Facebook Application Developer Diditz Joins TERP Startup Lab

Diditz, a company developing a new Facebook application that enables users to easily create Web pages using their Facebook albums, has joined the TERP Startup Lab. Diditz provides a secure and easy channel for Facebook users to quickly convert Facebook albums into Web pages and use those pages as a tool for viral marketing, online outreach, story telling and fundraising. Diditz pages are indexed by search engines and can reach millions of potential viewers on the Internet. The application is developed by a two-member team that includes Sohit Karol, Ph.D. student in the School of Public Health. Diditz is seed-funded by an angel investment group in India. The company won the Pitch Dingman Competition in November, 2008 and was a semi-finalist in the graduate student division of the 2009 University of Maryland $75K Business Plan Competition. The company is constantly improving the product as a part of project work for various courses in the departments of information science and computer science. Karol developed the idea for Diditz during the Advanced Engineering Startup Ventures course taught by Dr. David Barbe, executive director for Mtech.
