No. The incubator provides space and mentorship, not capital. For early-stage funding, look at MIPS, TEDCO's MII grant, Dingman Angels, Baltimore Angels, and the Maryland Momentum Fund. Clean-tech companies may also be a fit for the Chesapeake Bay Seed Capital Fund, which is affiliated with Mtech Ventures but invests independently of the incubator.
No. Membership requires no equity.
Rent is quoted per company based on space and configuration. Email mtechventures@umd.edu for pricing.
No. Any company may apply. Because demand for space is high, companies founded by UMD College Park students, faculty, or staff are prioritized.
Yes. Virtual membership with mailbox service is available under its own license agreement, alongside physical space options.
